Camp Sangamon

The camp community is made up of 90 campers, 45 staff, and 15 counselors-in-training. Typically, campers come from at least twenty states and ten countries. Camper ages range from 9 to 15 years. Campers live in cabin groups of eight campers, three staff, and often a second year staff trainee.

Sangamon is built on a picturesque Vermont hill farm with 150 acres, sunny pastures, cool woods, and a spring-fed 25-acre lake. The heart of the camp is the early 19th century farmhouse and barn, which house the dining room and some activities. Campers live in simple pine board cabins with a fieldstone fireplace, lit by kerosene hurricane lanterns.

The program is diverse and includes: Creative Arts, Horseback Riding, Trip, Sports, Aquatics and Farming.
