  "Awful experience, ruined my hopes of beautiful, professional familynewborn photos! Extremely disappointed with the service and the photos we received from Alex at Ambient. When I decided I wanted to get our photos done professionally I searched all around our area to find the best service and the best price. It took lots of energy to convince my boyfriend to participate and split the cost because to him anyone can take a photo. I ended up convincing him to go with Ambient because the reviews were so good and Alex had a mother's day sale where we would be able to have an hour photo shoot including a package of photos and a copy of purchased photos on a disc for 530 tax included. For us that is a lot of money and we expected we would get wonderful family photos as well as newborn photos of our baby girl. The photo shoot itself seemed to go well. Alex was friendly and the space was nice. He has a beautiful studio and awesome outdoor venue. However beyond that it was a nightmare. Our photos arrived weeks late and the prints were incorrect. The photos were printed in the wrong sizes, damaged in the mail AND our disc of the purchased photos was missing. I reached out to Alex who responded quickly but without a resolution. Days passed and I reached out again. When I still had yet to receive a response my fiance reached out to Alex and finally we got a response. Alex then provided us with copies of the damaged photos in the correct print, a disc of all the photos from the photo shoot and he upgraded our canvas picture. All of that sounded great EXCEPT when we received the disc of photos NONE of them were photo shopped so my daughters baby acne was in full swing and I have had to search for someone to edit them for me. Alex never photo shopped my hair tie off my wrist I didn't even realize it was on my wrist until Alex told me halfway through the photo shoot. In all of the photos of my daughter on her own her eye crossed and the angles are strange. I was behind my daughter during the time Alex took those photos so I had no idea that her eye had crossed nor that she was at weird angles. We only got a couple prints in color, the rest were all black and white. My hair tie is in almost every photo. There are only a couple pictures I remotely like at all and none I am in love with. The canvas picture took almost 3 months to arrive and Alex does not develop his own photos. My daughter is absolutely beautiful and Alex didn't capture her beauty for us. He didn't capture anything and he didn't even bother putting his logo on our pictures because I am certain he knows he did shoddy work. It was a good experience gone horribly wrong and I will NEVER pay for pictures professionally again. Waste of 530. It is 6 months later and I am still upset about it. Our pictures were done 53017 and just writing this brings back all my anger and frustration. I wish we had demanded a refund. I have now found someone willing to photo shop the photos and correct my daughters baby acne and remove my hair tie but there is no way to fix her cross eye or the crappy photos he took that day and I am not sure I will ever be able to look at any of the photos without getting upset."

  "A couple weeks ago we completed an outdoor family photo shoot with Alex of Ambient Photography. My wife and I reviewed the photos today and all I can say is WOW! Alex did an amazing job of capturing our family in a beautiful outdoor setting. Despite our young boys being an ever moving target, we had so many masterful images to choose from. Finished prints are not cheap, but the artistry and quality are well worth it."

  "When my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer I looked at my family photos and realized they were very outdated. I had recorded my childrens growth in photographs but hadnt had a family photo in many years. A close friend was having her daughters senior pictures and family photos done by Ambient Photography. She mentioned that they give back to families dealing with cancer by doing a complimentary sitting photos. I contacted Alex and felt very comfortable right from the start. I could tell he was a very caring, genuine individual. One of my ideas was to photograph my son and husband with the Mt. Mansfield to Camels Hump ridge line in the background because they had hiked the Long Trail a couple of times together. Alexs property was perfect for this. They have an amazing setting, an excellent backdrop to enhance the photography. We have a young child and a teen and Alex was the best at bringing out the smiles in both of them. I cannot express how beautiful the photos are, we are truly delighted to have captured a moment in time. My girlfriend said Ambient Photography doesnt produce a photograph, they create a family treasure that just comes to life. And I couldnt agree more. My family will be forever grateful for their generosity and kindness! "

  "We cannot say enough wonderful things about Ambient Photography! We have had our children photographed by Alex and Kathy a couple of times over the last several years and the results are not just great photos they are heirlooms for future generations. Their photos are simply beautiful and manage to capture the spirit of the kids being photographed. Ambient combines both warm, personal service with incredible artistic talent. We highly recommend Ambient for family pictures. "

  "If there was an option to give more than a 5 STAR rating we would. Seriously. We recently used the services of Ambient Photography to capture photo's of our family with the addition of our newborn twins and we were absolutely delighted with the results. Alex did an amazing job capturing all sorts of different shots and we were so pleased with the photo session, we couldn't wait to see the final results. Last night we were able to review the photo's in a well prepared slide show with Alex and we were so thrilled it became an emotional time for Mommy. The photo's were amazing! It was extremely difficult to pick out which ones we liked best. We couldn't be more pleased and recommend everyone to use Ambient. It has been professional and relaxing experience from start to finish. Alex is a master at his art. We could see that from the moment we stepped into their home office. We can't wait to see the final product and we look forward to our next photo session in the fall with the picturesque surroundings outside their home."

Alex created a sideshow of my selections to music that makes me cry every time I see it. He also created an incredible holiday card.   "Ambient Photography has been shooting phenomenal photos of my family for years. We have taken pictures at their studio, in their beautiful outdoor space and they have even come to our home. Kathy and Alex make taking pictures fun! They make you feel relaxed and yourself and that really shows when you get your photos back. When our children were younger, and less cooperative, they were patient and able to get them to not only to smile but to laugh together in the same photo! As the years went by we added a puppy to the mix. Kathy and Alex took that in stride and made it work because that is our family and we wanted everyone in the pictures. They are completely flexible. Nothing seems like too much of a challenge. They are great at suggesting poses and action shots that will convey your family's personality, your family's story. The portrait session is only the first part. When you proofs are ready you will be invited back to the studio for a viewing on a big screen so that you can carefully pick and choose, with their expert eye guiding you, which photos you want to turn into portraits, holiday cards, or an album. It is a wonderful process. We have always ended up with the most natural looking pictures. We are just ourselves. I can't recommend Ambient enough."

  "Alex and Kathy first photographed our daughter when she was in preschool. The photos were lovely and far from the usual posed school photography. There was a softness about them and they truly captured our child's spirit. We decided to book a session with Ambient as we neared the birth of our second child. They were wonderful to us during this emotional time. We returned for a session after our son was born, every 3 months for the first year, and now every year as our children grow. Alex and Kathy have a true gift for seeing what lies beneath, bringing it forth, and capturing it....regardless of what 's going on around us. We have arrived at their studio as a fragile mother, a screaming newborn barely opening his eyes, a family dodging raindrops in a thunderstorm, and a grumpy toddler after a very long day. They have captured the tender moments, the precious details and a joyful family who loves each other. We are so lucky to have these images to look back on as our lives move so quickly. Not only do they capture moments that you never knew existed and freeze them for eternity but they do this with artistic, natural backdrops that take your breath away. We have had our family photographed twice I wish I had done more through the years and each time i saw the pictures for the first time, I cried.   "Alex and Kathy are not only phenomenal to work with, very professional but also very warm people. They put you at ease right away and the whole photography session doesn't feel posed infact it felt like walking on the meadows chatting with a friend very effortless. What i loved about working with them, is that they have a gift to get the best from my child. They have this wonderful ability to connect with the children, make them laugh and take the most natural photos. We love our family photos... Infact, our holiday cards were such a big hit with our family that I had several close family members tell me that they have put the cards into photo frames. We don't live in Vermont anymore, but I would gladly wait to get our next photos done by the Pintairs during a visit. "

  "AMAZING!!! That pretty much sums up our experience with Alex and Kathy at Ambient. They are amazing artists with a beautiful eye for gorgeous pictures. We had our family photos taken at their home in the fallwow!!!! What a picturesque settingtruly beautiful and exactly how you would picture Vermont in the Fall. I was 7 months pregnant and we had our very active almost 2 yr oldI was a little nervous when we walked to our car at the end of the shoot as there were plenty of meltdowns. But Alex was so patient and wonderfully engaging with our daughter. And the resultsmagnificent!! Just blown awaywe had Ambient put together our holiday cardsthe responses from our family and friends were so wonderful. Alex and Kathy have figured out how to capture the essence of family in each photo they take. We are heading back next week to have photos taken of our newborn and new family!!"

  "My family had a wonderful experience using Ambient Photography to photograph us for family photos. It was immediately evident Alex was seasoned in dealing with active young kids because of his patience and understanding as my husband and I wrestled our two boys 1.5 and 3.5 years into their dress up clothes for the photos. Understanding the limited attention span the boys had not to mention their lack of being able to follow directions Alex made use of every minute to make sure to get the shots we wanted. As we walked along the beautiful fields behind Ambient Photography, Alex pulled out every trick he had to get the boys to smile and cooperate, and made my husband and I feel at ease with the process. We were very impressed with the setting Ambient had to offer because we really wanted our photos to be in an outdoor setting. The grounds at Ambient Photography were maintained beautifully while still exhibiting the natural ambience of the surroundings. We felt the grounds provided the setting we were hoping for and provided us with much variety in our end proofs. It was a pleasure to go back to Ambient Photography and meet with Alex to be presented with our proofs. The presentation was put together with care and my husband and I were so impressed with our options that we had a hard time choosing our favorites! The final prints we have on our walls are stunning. The quality of the canvas photos is outstanding. The colors are rich and remarkable with Mt. Mansfield standing in the background. The smaller prints we ordered are as remarkable and we have already given several as gifts to very thankful grandparents! Overall, we are very happy with our experience with Ambient Photography. It was a big investment for us, and we felt like Alex understood that and went above and beyond to ensure we received the full value of his expertise. We are very happy with our decision to go with Ambient and will definitely use them again."

We've used 2 other professional photographers in the past and Ambient certainly is the best in every way. They are patient and welcoming. They take as much time as you need without any pressure.   "We've known Kathy and Alex for 3 years. Besides being phenomenal people, they are far and away the best photographers we've ever come across. Time after time, their images absolutely take our breath away as well as anyone who enters our home and sees them. Kathy and Alex have made an instant magical connection with my children that comes from within them this amazing ability cannot be taught.
