Bakersfield Tree Farm began over 23 summers ago. The Foote family planted about 5,000 trees in a sunny meadow just outside Bakersfield, Vermont on Route 36.

The meadow is now home to over 20,000 Christmas trees, ranging from stately, room swallowing Firs and Pines, down to 3 foot table-top sizes. They provide hand saws to borrow and will help tie your tree securely to your vehicle.

You can visit Bakersfield Tree Farm as early as October (please call for an appt) to tag your tree. Come back in December to cut it down.  Trees range in size from 3-15 feet.

If you don't care to walk out in the plantation to choose and saw down your tree, they also have plenty of fresh-cut choices in various sizes and varieties in the yard.

Bring the family and make it a holiday tradition. They usually have free candy canes and share the life-size dancing and singing bear, snowman and Santa, with kids from age 1 to 100. There are sleds for moving trees or for children to use when the ground is white.

Gary & Alice Foote are your hosts. We welcome your visit.

They have free candy canes for the kids and life-size dancing singing bear, Santa and snowman.  There are sleds for moving trees (and kids) if there is snow on the ground.  Bring your camera and your dog (if he is on a leash).

"Gary's Tree farm in Bakersfield is awesome! Hot cocoa and candy canes and you can take a sled and saw and go find the perfect tree for you to cut down. It's worth the trip! "

"Beautiful drive to this beautiful tree farm. Run by a lovely couple who provide sleds for the tree or the kids!, saws and rope for tying to your car. They also have a nice selection of handmade wreaths and kissing balls. The best part? The price! Only 35 for a large tree ours was almost 10 feet!."

"This was an amazing place to cut your own tree. They had sleds and saws and it was fun to walk through the trees to find the perfect one! After we found the perfect tree the kiddos were treated to candy canes and a song from the singing bear! We will be back next year "
