Camp Paw Paw offers a unique learning experience for children who share one thing in common: their love for animals. During camp, children will learn about a wide variety of topics including: proper pet care, animal safety, homeless animals in our community, animal-related careers, HSCC’s mission, and much more!
Each topic will be led by professionals in animal—related fields. Through different activities and lessons, campers will develop the skills and confidence to become knowledgeable animal caretakers and ambassadors for animal welfare. Campers will leave with a better understanding of the unique bond that exists between humans and animals.
Camp Paw Paw offers three different age groups: 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 year olds.

- July 19, 2010"My daughter attended the full day career camp and absolutely loved it. She found the groomer, the vet, the pet acupuncturist and all of the other jobs that people could possibly have when working with animals fascinating. Aside from a one day field trip to Shelburne Farms to learn about farm careers, the campers spend their week at the Humane Society facility in South Burlington in a camper room yet they do have time to interact with the animals that are there for adoption mostly cats and a few guinea pigs. The dogs that are there are not yet socializedready for playtime with that many children. However during the week she was there three rottweiler mix puppies came in and the kids did have a chance to play with them just a tiny bit. We would do this camp again in heartbeat. They only thing I would advise parents is that kids will most likely come home wanting to adopt a pet!"- missmagpie
