"My 14 year old and a group of 7 friends spent a Saturday morning at Colchester Paintball. They had a great time. They booked time from 900 1200, rather than going during 'walk on time from noon500pm. When we arrived for pick up at noon, it did seem crowded. Upon arrival, if you are under 18 a parent must sign a waiver. Next you purchase the package you want or you purchase just ammo if you have brought your own equipment. A ref comes to meet your party, goes over basic safety info and the rules. Then the group picks which course they want to play and heads out. His group played spools, pallets and speedball. Speedball is a very quick game. The group sometimes split up and played each other or they played other groups that were there. My son needed approximately 700800 paintballs for a 3 hour session. The recommended package the paintball gun, mask, free air balls comes with 500 balls, then he ended up purchasing 500 more for 20 and splitting it with another player. This more economical because it is 5 for 100 balls. Parents can sign a waiver, don a mask and go out on to the field to get an up close view of the action. I didn't. Staying behind the fencing and far back was fine for me. They recommended age for this activity is 10 and up. I would agree."

"We booked a session for my sons 16th birthday. With 11 players male and female, and 80 of us never having played before, we had a ton of fun! The staffref was fun and helpful. He kept the games moving, challenging, and gave us tips to keep improving. They cycled us through many different fields with different games and strategies. Yes, it does sting when you get hit you sure know it!, but that really helps you focus on staying covered and thinking out your moves! Several times one or two would sit out for a while until the sting wore off me included, but then they'd get right back in. Afterward, we brought the gang to our place for food and a bonfire....the chatter and smiles were nonstop! We can't wait to play again! I would not recommend this for younger kids like 10 year olds...unless they are pretty tough. Teenagers are all over this stuff though!"
