Essex Youth Hockey offers options for children that are new to the game of hockey, as well as those that are more experienced and seeking an instructional and recreational hockey program. Programs are located at the Essex Skating Facility.

The NewBees Program is the entry-level program primarily for children between 4 and 7 years of age.  The program focuses on the fundamentals of skating in a supportive and fun environment. If you would like to learn more about the NewBees, please visit their website and click on "NewBees" located on the left side of the website.

The House Program is designed for children that have some skating or hockey experience and are seeking additional instruction in a recreational hockey setting. If you would like to learn more about the House program, please visit their website and click on "House Program" on the left side of the website.

Seasons usually begin each October. If you have any questions about the proper placement of your child or about our programs in general, please contact John Laliberte at jplib@comcast.net or 879-7771.

"My 11 year old daughter just finished the House program as a Peewee and it was a great experience. The coaches while all volunteer are wonderful, helpful and caring. This is a lot of hockey both weekend mornings for 4 months but being a house program, it wasn't a problem missing a fair amount. You attend when you can. It's not a team, rather an instructional environment. There were quite a few kids that had never played before. The only hard part is that the starting time for practices vary from 630am to 8am. My daughter had a hard time getting up! The nice thing is that you have your whole day ahead of you. In a nutshell, it's a lot of great hockey instruction, helping you to improve quickly."
