Evergreen Preschool is dedicated to fostering children's natural curiosity and love for learning through play in a supportive and collaborative environment. We celebrate the unique qualities of each child and family while cultivating a strong connection to nature and the community. Our approach promotes respect, embraces diversity, and encourages meaningful growth for all. At Evergreen Preschool we believe that a child's self-directed play is their primary and most important mode of learning, and it ensures a strong foundation for personal and intellectual growth.

We offer two programs for children ages 3 to 5. To enroll, children must be 3 years old by September 1st of the current school year.

  • 2-Day Program: Held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, this program accommodates up to 17 children.
  • 3-Day Program: Held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, this program accommodates up to 18 children.

Both programs run from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. An Extended Day Option is available for up to six children per class, at an additional cost. The extended program runs from 1:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

"my 4 year old started in the 2 day program this year and we are both very happy with it. Things I love the best 1. it's play based 2. they go outside no matter the weather they teach the kids AND the parents about layering and WOOL not cotton socks. So important so that we can have fun in the vermont winters. 3. the cooperative nature of it parents share duties snack, cleaning, library books, fund raising. 4. that you can drop in at any time and they really encourage parents to be a part of the day. 5. teacher communication they answer emails, phone calls right away 6. that it ends at 130 so my son, who still naps can come home and sleep. 7. the price a bargain in my opinion. Love this school, the fun my child is having and everything we are all learning."
