- March 4, 2010"The search for a preschool for my son turned out to be a much bigger decision than I could have imagined! I visited many schools before deciding on HNS. Most had much prettier facilities, but what I have come to realize is that what is most important about my son's first school experience is the quality of the teachers and the interactions he has with his peers. The teachers at HNS are fantastic! They have a wealth of experience and they offer an engaging and exciting curriculum. Though the program seems well adapted for children of all ages, there seems to be a big gap between the young three year olds and the older five year olds, who don't seem to socialize readily with one another. The program is very affordable but the cooperative aspect does require that you give to the school in other ways. Overall, we have had a very favorable experience and I would highly recommend this program. "- mamalaura

She is actually in a summer camp this week that the school is hosting with an under the sea theme....complete with a slip and slide that she can't stop talking about. She has learned so much and she's only 3! She was able to tell me this year that Pluto was not a planet...it's a subplanet mommy. She also got our family composting....since they compost after snack time! The school and teachers are amazing and I couldn't be happier."- KRoberts

The theme is incorporated into circle time, art activities and sometimes into outdoor activities too. The classroom activities are balanced well for boys and girls. For example, there is a workbench to build things, legos, sewing projects, and a dress up area. Something for everyone. It's a wonderful environment for a preschooler. My son couldn't be in a better place. reviewer is affiliated with organization "- Kelli_vt

I love seeing him using his imagination, playing with magnets, watching a butterfly emerge, taking turns and making great friends. My son loves HNS and while it does take extra time being part of a parent cooperative, the rewards make it all worthwhile."- HinesburgMOM

My child is thriving on the social interaction and learning about all kinds of new subjects the planets, Chinese New Year, and bears. The school is a coop so parents are involved in all aspects fundraising, cleaning and repairs, even snow shoveling! Finding the extra time to give to the school can be challenging. I have found that my extra involvement with the school allows me to get to know the teachers, parents, and my child's peers that much better."- GardeninMama
