"We headed out to visit this family owned orchard in late September. Macintosh and Compspur Macintoshs were available for picking. The Compspurs are great for younger kids as they are a dwarf tree variety. Small kids will find they can reach up and pick all by themselves or with the assistance of the orchard provided step stool. For the apples that are a bit higher they do have the grabber poles. There are horses on property. They are not for feeding, they get plenty of apples from their owners, but great for admiring. This orchard is located high on top of a Hunger Mountain, but very close to Waterbury. We went into town and had lunch afterwards at The Blue Stone. It made for a great afternoon. "
