McKay's Family Farm and Animal Adventures

McKay's Family Farm was established by David and Mary Lou McKay. They raised beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, goats and horses along with producing vegetables and pumpkins. In the summer of 2014, their youngest son Luke took over the farm and continued what they started. Luke now produces farm fresh beef, goat, and lamb. Along with doing wholesale orders of pumpkins. 

In the spring of 2019 Luke opened a seasonal farm stand right at the farm. The farm stand is only opened seasonally from May 1st until October 31st. You can find flowers and plants, fresh produce, mums, pumpkins and so much more. While you are at the farm don't forget to stop by the petting zoo and meet some of the critters on the farm. They always love visitors.

Horse Drawn Wagon & Sleigh Rides

Explore the farm with horse-drawn rides pulled by our Belgian draft horse team. We will take you for an old- fashioned ride touring our farm’s back roads and forest.

Big sleigh- and/or wagon can accommodate 10 people. Riders must be able to step up and into the wagon.

If you want to book a private ride, then book all the ride slots for the time slot you want to ride. Otherwise, unselected seats will be filled by other riders not associated with your party.

Papa Dave’s Barnyard

Papa Dave’s Barnyard is home to many wonderful and different critters! You can pet and feed many of them, they just LOVE company! Located right here on the farm, we have a large variety of animals to see and interact with! We are open from Memorial Day weekend through Halloween from 10am-4pm (gates close at 3pm) THURSDAYS- SUNDAY weather permitting. Papa Dave’s Barnyard is a great way to spend your time relaxing while being loved on by all of the animals we have to offer. We pride ourselves in your interaction with our animals being enjoyable and educational. We want your experience to be rememberable.

Guided Horse Trail Rides

1 HOUR TRAIL RIDE:
This gives our guests a chance to explore Vermont’s beautiful countryside on horseback. The back country landscape will leave you astonished and asking for more time in the saddle.

Group Ride $60 per person
Private Ride $80 per person.

PICNIC RIDE:
Our 1 1/2 hour ride combines our scenic one-hour countryside tour with a break for lunch in one of our many beautiful locations. Bring your own lunch!

PONY RIDE:
For the kiddos looking for something to do on the farm, there is nothing better than a pony ride. Let one of the cowboys or cowgirls lead the kiddos around the farm.
$10 per child
