Details

Cost: Camping = $5/person/night Parking: Yes

We refer to this as a remote camping area because of the reduced services, facilities and staff on hand at the park. The ranger station is open on a reduced-hours schedule, although there is resident staff in the park around the clock. The fee schedule is different, too, as camping fees are the same as group camping rates, at $5/per person/per night rather than per campsite. Camp sites may not be reserved in advanced, but are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campers self-register upon arrival at the park, while the resident staff checks periodically to assure that everyone has registered.

Park Amenities:

  • swimming
  • boating
  • private trails
Season:
  • Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend Open for day use: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM or Official Sunset

Directions:

  • From Alburgh: Go 6 mi. SW on U.S. 2, then 3 mi. NE on Town Road

"Unfortunately this park no longer allows camping, which is extremely unfortunate. We only discovered it last summer at the end of the season and completely fell in love with it. The sites are private, the hiking trails are beautiful and the beach with the roped off soft shell turtle nesting area is so pretty. This park is a long drive to get to, but worth it for sure. The rangers who worked there last year were so helpful, they even helped us with some first aid supplies that we were going to head into town to try to find. There is a small pond along a hiking trail that makes for an easy hike for small children as well."
