One Arts Studio

ONE Arts Studio is located at Camp Meade in Middlesex at 961 US-2. Art activities take place in the One Arts Studio Cabin on the green and The Planetary Arts Building. 

The Studio offers After School Art for K-4th grade.

Cave Painting Camp (3 days) (ages 5-11 years)

Antiquity shines through the ages. Campers will look at pictures of cave paintings from Spain and France all the way to the rock art of the Navajo or Diné. The young artists will then create their own painting on rock using charcoal, pastel, sand and paint.

Creative Threads (ages 9-13 years)

Creative Threads Camp offers kids a hands-on exploration of fabric arts through batik and weaving. This unique program introduces young campers to the rich traditions and techniques of these crafts, combining cultural education with artistic expression. Under the guidance of skilled instructors, children learn to design and dye intricate batik patterns and create colorful woven masterpieces on small looms. The camp fosters creativity, patience, and teamwork as kids experiment with bold colors, textures, and designs. Beyond art, it’s a place where friendships flourish and self-confidence grows, all while celebrating the timeless beauty of handmade textiles.

Character Creation Camp (ages 5-11 years)

In this camp, we’ll dive into the exciting world of creating fictional characters. Who are they? Where do they come from? What are their passions and quirks? Through activities like drawing, painting, mask-making, crafting dioramas, and writing short stories, we’ll bring these characters to life. Our journey will culminate in a collaborative group project, showcasing all of our imaginative creations.

Color Camp (ages 5-11 years)

At this camp, children will explore the fundamentals of the color wheel and learn how to mix colors to bring their creative visions to life. Using a variety of artistic media, campers will experiment with blending techniques in oil pastels and acrylic paints. Through observation and imagination, they will create vibrant paintings and drawings that showcase their unique perspectives.

Builders Camp (ages 5-11 years)

An exciting camp for budding builders and creative minds! Participants will use materials like LEGO, cardboard, hot glue, paper mache, and sculpting clay to craft sculptures, puppets, and origami creations. We'll start with smaller projects and work our way up to constructing life-sized structures they can climb inside!
