Become the best babysitter on the block with the American Red Cross! Training will provide skills important to the safe and responsible care of children when parents are out of the house. Whether you're a budding babysitter professional or a big brother/sister, learning these skills can keep everyone safe when mom and dad are gone!
During this 7 hour course, sitters will practice key skills to survive all kinds of babysitting and home-alone dilemmas.Topics include safe play, first aid, preparing simple meals, proper feeding, carrying, dressing and diapering of a child as well as problem solving and conflict resolution. Sitters will learn to look for the difference between life-threatening and less serious emergencies and how to handle illnesses, injuries and household accidents. Each participant will receive a certification card, babysitter handbook, DVD and fun activity book with awesome game ideas to do with the kids!
