"The Russell tree farm is AMAZING. I have never experienced a better picturesque tree cutting experience horse sled ride up to the trees, perfect pond and cabin complete the visual experience, and complimentary fireside cookies and hot chocolate in the cabin was a great way to warm up after cutting the perfect tree!!"

"This was our second year traveling to Dave Russell's Christmas Tree farm. Again it was a special experience. You cut down the tree, but they make it easy with everything you need from saws to twine to tie the tree to your vehicle. After you cut down your tree, you simply carry it over to the road and head over to the cabin for hot chocolate while they pick up your tree and bundle it up for you. They usually have wonderful wreathes and garland for sale too. Go, you won't be disappointed! "

"We have known the Russell family for years, in fact my husband grew up with his daughter, Amy, who just happens to be the wife of our pastor at Community Alliance Church. The whole family is as welcoming as you will find anywhere. My daughter was asked by Dave Russell to help tofay at the farm and it made her entire holiday special. If you want a real special treat stop by and see David, Janet Scott, Amy and the kids. Also why not check out the Community Alliance Church webpage for info on our live nativity at the church next Saturday. "

"When you pull into Dave Russell's Farm you know you are being welcomed into the extended family. These people are warm and inviting and everyone there sincerely wants to make sure you enjoy your time spent on their property. You are greeted near the Warming Parlor and told how long the wait might be until you get on the next sleigh out to the fields. On the day we were there, they had two teams of horses pulling, however sometimes they have three. If it going to be too long for you to wait, you do have the option of driving your fourwheel drive vehicle up to the trees, or walking, however it looked pretty far. While you wait, you can grab some hot chocolate in the Warming Parlor and then listen to the farm hands as they explain how the process of getting your tree works Grab a tag at the bottom and mark your name on it. The sleighs pull you out to the field caroling on the way is your option. There are saws at the top. The guys will come around via truck and pick up your tree and bring it to the bottom. Sleighs come back around to give you a ride down. Your tree will be baled for you and they even help to load it into your vehicle. There is also a cabin out in the tree fields that you can make a destination on your sleigh ride pack a picnic and stop for a while during your search for the perfect tree. We didn't get that far. We were dropped of after the first log pile because that is where the largest trees are. Every year we are looking for trees 1720'. Dave Russell's tree farm did not disappoint. There were plenty to be had and we found a beauty. Dave and one of his guys came to help us cut it down and haul it out of the woods. We have been to a lot of tree farms in our time here in Vermont, but I have to say this has been the most pleasurable ever! Dave and his family are so genuine, so helpful and really have the spirit of the holidays in mind when you visit their place. We will be back."

"We had a wonderful time at Dave Russell's Christmas Tree Farm! We went on the recommendation of this website and were not disappointed. The horses are beautiful, the farm has tons to see cows, more horses, even a bunny!, and the Russells are the kindest, warmest people imaginable. They made our visit to the farm so specialwe are already planning to head back when we have family in town for the holidays to get another tree! We will also stop in the cabin next time around and have some hot chocolate. This is a wonderful family, a wonderful farm, and a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. Thanks, Russells, for a great afternoon! "

"Bundle up, but this is a great experience. Dave and his family are warm and casual. You get the ride the horse drawn wagon complete with bells on the horses' harnesses up the hill through their dairy farm back to the tree farm. It's simple, rustic, and 100 charming."

"Our family has ridden the sleigh and picked out our tree from Dave Russell's farm for years. Our two kids are enchanted by the entire experience, even when it's 7 degrees bundle up!. There's nothing like it, I highly recommend it. Oh, and you can buy maple syrup from Dave as well, and it's top notch."
