"Love this park for walking! It is great that you can take your dog with the family all yearround, unlike Shelburne Farms down the road, where dogs are only welcome offseason November 1March 31. There is a small parking lot at the trail head. The paths are fairly wide and appear to be well maintained. You could easily push a stroller with fat tires on it. There are 12 mile markers along the way so you can tell just how far you have gone. There are offshoot trails that go into the woods, we didn't take those but they appeared a bit narrower and more rugged, yet not steep. The terrain there is relatively flat, not mountainous. At the far end of the trail you come upon the bay of Lake Champlain with a beautiful view. There is small beach and bench."

"This is probably our favorite place to snowshoe. It's not difficult so the kids like it, but the scenery is beautiful for the parents. You are right next to the water for a good distance and it splits off later on in various directions. So peaceful. Another nice feature is that you can snowshoe here for a half hour or much longer without a long drive to get there."

"Shelburne Bay Park is a Chittenden County treasure that is accessible yearround, and full of wonder for anyone craving fresh air and a dose of nature, whether you have 30 minutes or 3 hours to spend there. The trails are wellkept, with a moderate, wide trail for a walk, as well as narrow, winding trails that test even the most cardiovascular systems, young or old! The park's accessibility, not far off Route 7 in Shelburne, makes it an easy way to get a family hike in when you've got a packed weekend but really want a bit of quality time outdoors together. With choices to go deeper into a gorgeous wooded system of maples and other deciduous beauties, or stay lakeside along an easy, curving trail perfect for little people and parents, the park is perfect for an afterschool outing or time on the weekend. Plenty of parking is available, and you can also access the LaPlatte Nature trail just across Bay Road for further exploring choices. Definitely a Must See, Must Do!"
