The famous Smugglers’ Notch is a narrow pass through the Green Mountains. Lined with 1,000-foot cliffs, the winding road is closed in winter. In the earlier days, only a footpath and trail for horses existed here. Smugglers’ Notch State Park was relocated in 2003. The new campground features sites that are further spread out, a new restroom facility that incorporates alternative energy and a location that gives easy access to Bingham Falls.

- August 13, 2012"By far the nicest Vermont State Park I have EVER camped at!! This park has incredible, completely private sites, many of which you park at and walk into for absolute privacy. The bathrooms all look like they belong in a resort rather than a state park and the staff is the most professional of any I have ever met in a state park. This park is absolutely pristine. There are multiple absolutely stunning hiking trails around, including one to a large waterfallriver nearby that is walkable from your campsite. We will absolutely be back to this one again soon!"- paddlekat
