FAMILY TIPS BEFORE YOU GO

1. Call before you go. This will help you take advantage of the best discounts, and plan for the activities you want to do most. For special events and general park information, call (518) 792-3500.
2. Plan to visit when attendance is lightest. Best bets: Weekdays during the summer and any regular operating day during the months of May, June, September and October.
3. Bring a jacket or sweatshirt for cool evenings. You can store it in a rental locker near the Main Gate, if necessary.
4. Smoking is prohibited in most areas.
5. Arrange a meeting place and time for your party, in case you become separated.
6. Stop by Stroller Rental if you need a stroller, wheelchair or electronic convenience vehicle. They're provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, so plan to arrive early.
7. Review the park map to familiarize yourself with the layout and help plan your day.
8. Pick up a show schedule when you arrive to see if there are any can't-miss events during your visit.
9. Plan to start your day at attractions farthest from the main entrance. Also, ride your favorite rides when the park first opens, or after 5 pm.
10. To save time, eat at non-traditional lunch and dinner hours.
11. Make sure children feel comfortable with a ride before they board.

"Fun for all ages! It's great that it's still around. I visited as a child and am excited that I can now bring my boys there. It's great to have it relatively close with out having to drive to a major city! You easily spend more at a county fair than a full day of fun."

"The park is a lot of fun. My son really enjoyed it at ages 4 5. I think continue enjoying it for quite a while. There rides for smaller kids are nicely separated from the bigger, more thrilling rides. Lines aren't too bad. The big downside is that you can no longer bring in a cooler or any outside fooddrinks and it costs a small fortune to eat there, like any amusement park. You have to plan on 20 per person just for lunch and a snack. And forget the beer garden where it's 10 and up per. Season passes bought under the early deals are a great value if you'll go twice or more in a year."

"This is overall what you'd expect from an amusement parkwater park experience. Kids loved it! They have really good entrance price deals, usually through the town rec departments. An even bigger and better park though if you are going for a drive anyway, also owned by the same group, is the 6 flags in Agawam MA"

"I brought my kids to the Splashwater Kingdom during winter break. It was great to get out of the cold and the kids had a blast. I wish the water was a few degrees warmer, but the kids didn't care. I was impressed at how many lifeguards were around. Great for all ages. Clean, too."

"We've gone the past two years. This year our kids were 22mth and 4 we had a gret time. The old storytown part is still there with the little houses our kids would have been thrilled with that along. But the new part with bugs bunny and wiggles show, high dive show and cinderella coach ride is wonderful!! The kid's rides in the new section were great too, not just the kind that goes round and round. We had a lot of fun but should have planned two days...we didn't even get the the frontier town part."

"We went last year. Not what I remember as a child. I will never return. The park is run down, the rides are not much better than a county fair. The cost is far too high for what they have to offer."
