- May 5, 2016"I am getting to know this place on many levels, as a student, parent and teacher! I signed my son up for an afterschool clay class and he loved it! The group of kids was great, the instructor was super patient and calm and very supportive of my son. He left with several wonderful projects and so I signed him up for a second session. Then I took a clay class in hand building and wheel work and I loved it! Rik was very informative and set a wonderful tone for the whole class, allowing us to go at our own pace with guided support. I eventually taught here too and I really enjoyed learning from my own students. This place is magical!"- vermontartmom
- April 26, 2016"We love everything about the Shelburne Craft School. The drop-in classes for preschoolers are awesome. The adult classes are top notch. We recently had a birthday party there for my 6 year old and it was the best thing we've ever done! There was a separate room that we decorated and had a table for cake and presents. The instructor Mikayla was patient and great with the kids. I even had input on what clay project we did (hot chocolate mugs). It was so much fun to have do a quality activity and the Craft School took care of everything. We even had time to play some games out in the beautiful courtyard. We've been to many birthday parties (as we all have!) and this just felt wholesome and quality and fun for all! We'll be back every year!"- FPJmom
- March 18, 2015"The Shelburne Craft School is one of our community's greatest gems! My children, in both preschool and grade school, have had wonderful experiences through their various offerings, including drop-in classes and field trips. Quality, hands on craft and art instruction in an inspired environment! Not only are the instructors extremely skilled and knowledgeable in their media (clay, wood, glass, metal/jewelry, fine arts), they are trained teachers who customize projects and instruction to meet the learners' needs. These are the kind of unique experiences and materials my children could not get exposed to in other area schools/arts programs and I can't recommend it enough! Both of my kids cannot wait for summer camp at the Craft School!"- vermother
- August 5, 2014"My family first discovered the Craft School when we dropped in to a class on a rainy Saturday morning three years ago. Since then, my children have enjoyed several summer camps which always include an Art Show on Friday to share the children's work. Each camp is of a different theme and allows the children to use a variety of mediums. Another favorite of ours is the hand-building in clay after school classes that are offered throughout the school year. The director, Sage, and the teaching staff are delightful. We love this little gem in our community!"- JAC
- April 24, 2014"I took Rik's Adult/Child Wheelthrowing class and it was fantastic. Rik is a talented and patient teacher who make the class fun and interesting. If you're looking to learn how to throw a pot but don't know where to start, Rik's class will be perfect for you."- potteryfreak
- April 24, 2014"My son and I took Rik's Adult/Child Wheelthrowing class and we had a blast! Rik is a very patient and encouraging teacher. The end result was a stack of very cute small bowls and two extremely pleased claymakers! I've also taken several of Robert Carsten's pastel classes. Like Rik, Robert is an extremely talented artist who gives critical feedback, but in such a way that you can't wait to come back for more. I highly recommend the Shelburne Craft School; it's a place that let's your creative juices flow!"- pegisue
- April 8, 2014"The Shelburne Craft School has been a beloved destination for the children of my family for multiple generations. I learned the joys of woodworking at The Shelburne Craft School, my nephew learned about pottery and I look forward to the day when my son is old enough to learn about the craft(s) of his choice. The Shelburne Craft School is a great nexus of creativity, camaraderie, history and of course craft. Craft is Back!"- Richard Warsop
- April 2, 2014"The Shelburne Craft School is very authentic, historically interesting and allows children to be creative with direction but also encourages their own exploration. We have enjoyed the drop-in programs and events. The teachers are also very helpful and let the kids be their true artistic selves. They also have amazing adult classes that I have participated in. We are very lucky to have a place like this in our community for the whole family."- gjtsounis
- March 15, 2013"The Craft School is such a treasure! It has been an amazing resource for our family. Our daughter has gone there weekly after school for most of the last two years. And she has done a few of their week-long summer camps. She has loved the camps, and always looks forward to her after-school class, regardless of the medium. I cannot recommend their staff and class offerings enough."- andrewbeverett

All the instructors are very knowledgeable and great with the kids. I would highly recommend any of their kid-friendly offerings. I'm also hoping to take a pottery class with Nancy myself:)"- sbo
