Young Tradition Vermont Camp

Trad Camp: A Unique Opportunity for Advanced Musicians, ages 7 to 17

Young Tradition Vermont’s Trad Camp welcomes campers who have never played an instrument before with beginner classes, but it also is a fabulous week of lessons and jamming for more advanced players. If you are already adept with an instrument, Trad Camp is a chance to:

• Learn new tunes and styles from the best teachers in the region
• Try out a new instrument
• Jam with other advanced players
• Experiment with arranging tunes and anchoring a band

This year, they also have a special set of master classes offered by our guest instructors: Shona Mooney, Jeremiah McLane and Yann Falquet.  Campers with more musical experience will learn tunes and techniques from French Canada, Brittany, Scotland, Northumberland and more.  These sessions will be full of tips for accompanists as well as melody players, and provide more history and context for the music as we learn it.
