- September 15, 2010"I've skied at Stowe several times and even had a season's pass as all my college friends were getting them. I think it is a great mountain for snow boarders, but as an advanced skier I was not a fan for several reasons they groom way too much there could be some great bump runs why not leave just one line of bumps down the side of nose dive, for instance? The mogul trails that do exist and have potential to be awesome! often have poor bump lines due to their popularity with the snow boarders. Best bump lines are at MRG best reliably great skiing is at Sugarbush. The prices are also crazy high!"- native VTer
- March 27, 2010"We headed to Stowe for a day of Spring Skiing. While everything about the mountain, the lodge, the gondolas, etc. is first class, the overriding negative factor that cannot be overlooked is the price. Our lift tickets for a family of for cost 196 for a half day of skiing. And wait for it...my son was free! He used his 5th grade passport. Throw in lunch a few waffles and some apres ski drinks and snacks and this day was outrageously expensive. It is evident everywhere that no expense has been spared in the renovation. This is truly a top notch ski resort. The lift ticket room looks like an airline club, the lodge is like something you would find in a magazine. There are outdoor fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, valet parking, and fine dining. I am just not sure I can justify that cost on a regular basis for one of my favorite family activities."- missmagpie
- March 5, 2010"I took my sons to the Mountain Adventure Center at Stowe Mountain resort last weekend for full day ski lessons. We had a great experience! Pros The instructor Steve was AMAZING. My boys are still talking about him. The resort provides lunch to the children. My oldest son said that they had choices and that lunch was really good. By the end of the day both boys were able to go updown the Magic Carpet, and the older one probably could have done a very basic beginner trail. They had SO MUCH FUN they want to go back this coming weekend. Cons The price. I would definitely enroll them in this program again. There is an option call the Munchkin program, which I think is just for Vermonters, that gives you a break on day lessonsexperiences something I will be looking into next year for sure!! "- Nicole
