Crafty Kids Farmers Market

Stowe’s crafty kids are at it again!

For the 4th year, kids will be selling arts, crafts, and yummy treats on the lawn in front of Once Upon a Time Toys. It’s a farmers market just for kids! Find something magical and support our local entrepreneurs! You can find painted rocks, fancy jewelry, bath fizzies, bookmarks, keychains, potholders and yummy treats of all kinds. Any kid from 4 years through high school are welcome. Sometimes visitors from New Hampshire and Massachusetts bring crafts they made at home.

This year’s newest craft are “Concretions”. Concretions are hard, compacted rocks that form inside softer sedimentary layers. Some look like tortoise shells and others look like fossils. Some are so symmetrical you would swear they were manmade, but they are not. They are nature’s own creations, with the help of glaciers. One of our crafty kids finds these and sells them at our Crafty Kids Farmers Market.

Another kid comes to our market from New Hampshire and brings an assortment of 3-d printed animals — everything from dinosaurs to armadillos to fancy marble rolls. His work was so promising that we now sell them at the toy store. At age 13, he is our store’s youngest vendor!

The Crafty Kids Farmers Market is every other Saturday from 10:30-2:30 through October. The next market is August 22. Know a crafty kid? You can register at stowetoys.com/Craft kids or stop by the store for a registration form.
