"At less than 2 hours away Okemo is a great ski vacation for Chittenden County families. Actually two days might not be enough! This mountain is huge. They have 119 trails over two mountains. There's a superpipe and 6 parks. Unfortunately we were there the first weekend of the season this year and mother nature wasn't exactly cooperative. We didn't get to ski much, but that didn't stop us because there so much to do off the slopes that we were plenty entertained. There is the new Spring House which houses pools with water slides fountains and heated kiddie pool. Plus there is a separate heated outdoor pool. Then there is the Timber Ripper Mountain Coaster. My 12 year old couldn't get enough of this ride. At 13 a pop, it is well worth it if you have thrillseeker, to buy a discounted 3, 5 or 10 punch pass. This combo alpine slideroller coaster is totally exhilarating. We saw kids as young as 3 riding with their parents. A totally fun activity for all. We spent the weekend staying at Jackson Gore in a 3 bedroom condo. This hotel is great. It offers wonderful amenities for families like a game room, outdoor firepit, the Coleman Brook Tavern for dining, a corner store and more. Our family particularly enjoyed the s'mores apres ski treat ordered at the Coleman Brook Tavern Bar. We did manage to eek out a few turns over at the Okemo Base. Our daughter even tried out snowboarding and think we might have a convert on our hands You will find the Okemo Base Lodge older in comparison to the Jackson Gore Base Lodge where everything is new a modern. But you can ski tofrom each so you can enjoy them both even if you aren't staying there. We will definitely be back to spend more time enjoying all the Okemo Mountain has to offer."
