Join us as we CELEBRATE our Freedom to Read with a Family Storytime on Saturday, October 19 at 10:30am. Ms. Valerie will read stories geared to listeners ages 2-6+ . Our storytimes at South Burlington Public Library are filled with literacy, laughter, song, and expression and are a great opportunity to get to know other children and families/caregivers in the area.

According to the American Library Association’s statistics, in 2023, book banning, and censorship reached an all-time high with a 128% increase over 2021. Book bans and censorship hurt every member of a community! Books are tools for understanding complex issues. Limiting people’s access to books does not protect them from life’s complex and challenging issues.

We offer this storytime as part of “Freedom to Read Day of Action: Communities Unite Against Book Bans”

This program is free and open to the public. No preregistration is necessary.

"My son and I went to a free concert by Jon Gailmor at the SB Library last Sunday and it was great! If you ever get a chance to see him perform, please do. He offers an all ages show ages ranges from 099 and everyone was included and seemed pleased. Between his funny lyrics and audience participation, there is really something for everyone. Thank you SB library!"
