  "My 8 yr old daughter absolutely loved her time attending Davis Studio summer camp this year. I appreciated the one day options available for the July 4th week and we signed her up for 3 days. The space is wonderful, her teacher/counselor Lydia was very friendly, super creative about projects and materials, and set a wonderful tone of exploration and fun for the week. My daughter came home on Friday with several actual art pieces and I was hugely impressed with the access she had to so many high quality materials, as well as the guidance for what to do with them. This camp was well worth the money and I feel good supporting a local, woman-owned business that encourages the arts. My daughter is already looking forward to attending a fall class."

  "Davis Studio is an amazing place. My children first started taking art classes at their location on Howard Street. It has been terrific to see all the great changes at their new space. My youngest child has been involved with Davis Studio recently with a group-Friends on the Go. She has special needs and Teresa has been so accommodating to her and the other kids in the group. We are so happy to display Ella's art alongside her older brother and sister's paintings. It is wonderful to have this art studio in our community. All the instructors we have met through the years have been more than qualified to offer unique experiences to my children. We have taken classes, hosted birthday parties and been guests at other parties. We have always enjoyed our time at the studio and we have a home full of art as a result of these great times!"

  "My daughter attended camp at Davis Studio last summer, and of all the summer camps she's attended Davis really stood out as her absolute favorite. The instructors were terrific, the space is big and bright and lovely, and the classes were creative and fun. She has some special physical needs, and the wood shop teacher went out of his way to make her a special jig so she could make her projects more independently and easily. And my favorite part as a parent: the cafe makes great lunch so I don't have to pack one! I would highly recommend to other families and can't wait for my daughter to go back this summer."

  "My daughter took a one-day class recently geared toward kids of all ages with special needs. The instructor was amazing - accommodating for all ability levels, clear with her instruction, and very encouraging. She supported the fact that each child interpreted the mixed media project in their own way, and each child left the class with a beautiful piece of art that they were very proud of. My daughter's looks amazing hanging on my wall!"

  "Our Son Connor, age 10 and daughter Clara age 8, have attended Davis Studio Art Camps for years. We have been impressed with Davis Studio since day 1. The instructors are well educated, talented and are personal to your child and always full of positive words. Everyone is warm and friendly which leaves the parents at ease when dropping off their child for camp knowing they will be safe and happy. The director, Theresa Davis clearly have a vision and it animates the entire experience of the young artists. The art projects are made with quality materials. The paintings, personal portraits, and creative art sculptures are beautiful pieces of art. The performance that they hold at the end of the session is amazing, especially after only one week! All the children are happy and want to stay longer. I would HIGHLY recommend these camps to anyone!!!"

  "We LOVE Davis Studio!! My daughter has taken full-day art classes and half-day writing classes as a homeschooler. We have taken a fused glass workshop together. The staff are friendly, professional and encouraging. Cafe on site is a bonus for those days when we didn't have time for breakfast or want something special for lunch. SO GLAD we found this place!"

  "My husband and I have attended a bunch of fused glass workshops for adults, and my daughter is a regular at the summer camps. She insists on at least one camp per summer, and the variety they offer makes it difficult for her to choose which camp to attend. I've always been very impressed with the various types of projects they create and the quality of the ideas that the counselors bring to each camp."

  "Davis Art Studio is Awesome! I signed my daughter up for a couple camps last summer because there isn't much else other than art that really interest her and she is too old for rec camp. She loved it! They put on an amazing week of camp and no two are alike. She was totally engaged each week and would come home and practice what she learned that day. At the end of the week, there is a reception for parents at pick up time that allows the kids to showcase their work just like in a real studio. I didn't hear a complaint about having to go once. For the kids who are still wiggly, they do go outside around lunch which is often to a park that's within walking distance. Kids can bring their own lunch but if they choose lunch can be purchased at the cafe which serves amazing and healthy lunches. Great way to get a picky eater to try new things!"

  "Both of my sons, now ages 13 and 9, have enjoyed classes at Davis Studio for several years, in both the former and current locations. In learning to draw, paint, and create, they developed fine motor skills, self-confidence, and appreciation for art. The new building is fantastic, with so many spacious, well-lit rooms, more variety in class options, outdoor play area and a fabulous bakery-cafe for lunches (and coffee for busy parents at drop off time). The location is convenient and parking is ample. Davis Studio is always at the top of my family's list for vacation camps and summer time fun!"

  "My daughter has done preschool art and recently, a cartooning class at Davis Studio. It has always been a great experience that she really enjoys. They offer plentiful and quality materials, inspiration, and supportive instruction with lots of room for experimentation, individuality, and fun. Preschool art times were always fun for me too, as I got to play right along with her! I look forward to taking my youngest to those when he is older. Many of those preschool art projects are still on display in our home - canvas paintings, ceramics, and a self portrait she did are among my favorites. But we also really enjoyed the more ephemeral experience-based art, like shaving cream art, spin painting, or making designs with paint and salt. As for the recent cartooning class, my daughter left with a lot of enthusiasm for her cartooning and has been drawing characters and panels often in her free time!"

  "My three daughters have been doing after school classes and painting camps for the last ten years and they absolutely love the Davis Studio. The owner Teresa is a great artist, she's friendly, accessible and the kids love her. Their new location is great and all the teachers have always been skilled, patient and nurturing. We have wonderful paintings all over the house, the ones from the Jackson Pollack camps from last year's summer camp are my favorite! The theater camps are pretty awesome too; we have awesome videos of the Wizard of Oz & Annie ;)"

  "The Davis Studio is a special place. Our younger son (9 yo) has been attending (once a week) the Art & Academic Enrichment full-day program for 2 years now. It is amazing. The program is broken down into 6-week units and at the end of each unit, the kids present their learning and work in a reception. The units range from robotics to Oceania to Native Americans (and the kids get to suggest new unit ideas!). The teachers take the kids on a deep dive of each subject while also allowing for self-directed learning. The children prepare for the reception where they hone their presentation skills. The class sizes are great and very conducive to high-level learning. Our son has formed some wonderful friendships with the kids in his class and loves all of the teachers! If you have a child who enjoys the arts and is looking for extended learning, look no further -- the Davis Studio is it!"

  "The Davis Studio is the place where my 12 year old can relax, be creative, and have fun with other children and adults. The programs and teachers have definitely played an important role in her overall education, especially while homeschooling during middle school. She has attended theater camp, Art & Academic Enrichment, Writing, and will soon experience her first Paint Night. She LOVES it! As a parent, I am grateful that my daughter is happy and relaxed in the space and when she comes home. The kind, fun, and talented teachers have fully supported her growth as a human being and artist. I can definitely see improvement in the way she approaches a project as well as the final result. My only complaint is that we don't have enough time to fit in more classes. An added benefit is that I've started taking classes and am finding the artist in me...it's never too late!"

  "My 4 year old has attended preschool art classes with Martina for the past couple of years, and she really loves it. The project ideas are so creative and varied, and the materials are high quality and interesting. While inspiration is provided in the form of example projects or suggestions, the kids are given all the space they need to go in any direction they want to with their individual projects, which I think is great. The kids also work on a canvas each session, and while they are free to use it however they want, some guidance towards making it a project they can build on is given, which is helping my kiddo develop her ideas around painting quite a bit. We love this class!"

  "Outstanding! Our son (who is 6-1/2 years old) has taken multiple classes from Davis Studio, and he loves it. It's fun, engaging, and the teachers interact personally with him, taking great stock in his overall experience there. Plus, after each camp he attends (and he's attended several), he grows by leaps and bounds artistically. And that's just not in what he creates. It's also by his enhanced understanding and appreciation of art. We love it when he shares with us what he's learned in class, whether it's about Matisse, or a certain painting technique. With 13 of her friends joining her, they all had so much fun and the art work created was PRICELESS. It was fun for the adults too. I forgot my cake server and ice-cream scoop and she had it covered. I was very surprised at the quality and uniqueness of the creations. I signed them up in August just to make sure they got in. I have a beautiful painting my son did of a penguin in my office. Makes me smile every time I see it. Tonight I took my first adult glass jewelry making class. All of a sudden two hours was up. She has fallen in love with art, and we've taken two trips to museums to find Impressionist Paintings. She now 'teaches art classes to us here at home, and makes museum displays about certain artists. The Davis Studio has given her so much. The artwork that she made in class is absolutely gorgeous and treasured! I am blown away by what the Davis Studio has brought into our household!   "My first introduction to the Davis Studio was while looking for an art camp for my teenaged daughter. Opportunities seem to get few and far between by the time our children reach middle & high school. What a pleasure it has been to discover the Davis Studio! She participated in a week long advanced drawing class and left with new skills, new appreciations, and an overflowing portfolio of new work, including one of her original's framed and ready to hang. That gesture was very appreciated. I love the convenient location on Pine Street and discovered other hidden gems in this artsy neighborhood, the best being the home of Meyer's Bagels. Coming from the Mad River Valley did not seem to be a haul at all, as my daughter's experience was a highlight of her summer, nurtured her love of art, and prepared her for the beginning of her high school art career. More than anything, the staff at the Davis Studio helped my daughter to identify as an artist. Thank you!"

  "My kids have been going to Davis Studio camps for many years and love it! Now I'd like to recommend a Saturday morning sampler for older kids and adults. My daughter, a freshman in high school, tried 'Introduction to Oil Painting' last weekend and came away with the discovery that she really liked oils. I think she had been afraid to try. She completed an 8 x 10 landscape and was quite proud of it. This is the best way to try something new or improve skills in something you like. Next we'll try the fused glass class. Check out the Saturday morning samplers!"

His art experience prior to these camps was very limited, but he fell right into place in the classes and, under the guidance of Teresa (Matisse) and Lydia (Pollock), absorbed so much and created these incredible pieces of art we now have hanging on the walls.   "My son has gone to many different Davis Studio camps and classes over the years and has loved every one of them: drama camps, improv comedy, stop-motion animation, and various painting classes. Theresa, MC Baker and the other teachers are incredibly skilled at providing a warm, welcoming environment while also teaching art skills in simple ways that bring the best of my child. The end results are pretty incredible. I've also recently discovered the adult classes and am hooked (on fused glass) and the Saturday morning samplers. Why should the kids have all the fun!?!"

I was blown away by the paintings that my six year old created! I realized that this was probably the first time that my son had spent two full hours creating art! The Preschool Art class was also wonderful. Theresa has figured out how many different types of activities she should offer in a preschool class. The class was filled with many different creative mini projects. It was obvious she understands the attention span & general vibe of preschoolers. (And Mom got to create fun things too!) I can't say enough good things about Theresa & the classes that she offers at Davis Studio!"

  "I think I had as much fun in this class as the little boy I nannied for! There were different projects each time we went, and we got to bring home our completed art work. They always do one big art project and let you take home a painting on canvas. The family I worked for still has her sons art hanging in her house. It was really very impressive!!"

  "My children have been going to the Davis Studio now for 4 years. This has truly been a wonderful experience. This year my daughters chose the Fashion Design Camp. They enjoyed this so much. The individuality and creativity that they are given to design and create fashion was wonderful. They even had a Runway show to show off their designs. I also find that Theresa Davis and her staff are just wonderful to work with and make the camp a very memorable experience for my children. Kim"

  "My 9 year old daughter participated in the Cinderella Theater camp over February break. What a creative, magical experience. Theresa and her staff were so supportive to all of the girls and boys throughout the week. And what they accomplished in those 5 days is truly miraculous. My daughter could not wait to go back each day. They painted, drew, sewed, acted, ate, laughed, sang, learned a ton about putting on a real performance, made new friends, and built up their confidence in performing arts. The studio has such a nurturing feel to it. i can't say enough about it. If I could give 6 stars I would."

They allow him to explore his creativity in a safe and nurturing environment. He has also learned the many aspects needed to produce a play, from behind the scenes to the final curtain call.   "I just can't say enough about this fantastic camp. My daughter wasn't sure about leaving the house at all this summer, even the idea of a camp all week wasn't flying...until Fairy Camp! She had such a great time, enjoyed making new friends, and the staff was so nurturing, she greeted them with hugs by the second day. They spent time playing outside, which was a nice diversion from all of the creating they were doing indoors. Every day produced something my daughter was proud to show me, and the culmination of displaying all of her work, along with the beautiful environment they'd created, was really a fantastic ending to the week. I highly recommend this for your little girl. She made me believe in Fairies by the end!"

  "June 2012 My 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter both took the Graffiti & Street Art, Level 1 camp this summer. My son described it as 'awesome, unique and totally out of the ordinary'. The kids stared off camp by coming up with their own graffiti or street name which they then parlayed into a lot of their work. Stenciling was one of their favorite, as was spray chalk.   "My daughter did the drama camp, and was absolutely glowing by the end of the week. They managed to pull off a whole show, complete with authentic costumes, a set, and a really involved script, that was both inclusive of all the actors, held together as a great story, and was quite funny. I'd sign up early, because these camps fill up quickly."
