The Joseph Smith Birthplace Memorial in South Royalton adorns their grounds with thousands of colors. Explore the grounds on foot of drive though. Lights are on 4-9pm until New Years.
Here’s some info to help plan your visit from @Vermontforreal:
⭐️ This display is a big loop in the woods that you can drive through as many times as you want. There are thousands of lights to see!
⭐️ Parking is available at the top of the hill (by the visitor’s center) or at the church before the display. If both are full when you arrive, just do a few donuts around the display until a spot opens up. People constantly come and go!
⭐️ Weekends and holidays can get busy at this little hilltop. I recommend stopping on a weeknight if you want peaceful vibes. I was there for 2 hours on a Tuesday night and saw 5 other cars… but Saturday after the tractor parade is another story.
⭐️ The display is high up on Dairy Hill Road, which is very challenging to drive in the snow. I do NOT recommend driving up if the roads aren’t clear!
⭐️ The lights are on every night from 4-9 until New Year’s Day. Come snowshoe the historic trails during the day, then stay for sunset and the lights.
