Enjoy a mix of fun runs, parades, music, fireworks and more in the town of Newport for a big Independence Day celebration!

The schedule:

Harry Corrow Freedom Run -  What better way to celebrate July 4th and our nation's Independence than with a trail run along the shores and woods of Lake Memphremagog! Options include a 2 mile, 5K, 10K, 10 miles, and 13.1 miles. Race begins at 8:30AM at Prouty Beach. Register here with Kingdom Games.

Derby Independence Day Parade - The Town of Derby will be hosting a 4th of July parade on Thursday, July 4th at 10AM.

Fair Food - Arrive a little before the concert at 6pm to "grab n' go" your favorite fair food and have a picnic on the point. Concessions will be set up in Gardner Park from 5-10PM for take-away style service.

Fourth of July Paddle Palooza
The famous Evansville Transit Authority will be performing from 6-9pm on the waterfront of Garnder Park. Grab a chair and relax on the point or paddle in and enjoy the music from the water. Enjoy the concert and stay for the fireworks directly following the show.

Northern Star Cruises - The Northern Star is Newport's home town yacht offering cocktails, lunch and dinner experiences and private charters on beautiful Lake Memphremagog. Hop aboard and see the entire panorama of a Northeast Kingdom celebration.

Fireworks - As the night winds down and the sun sets, the grand finale of the celebration begins at 9:30 with a brilliant fireworks display over the bay on Lake Memphremagog. Fireworks are launched from the Veteran's Memorial Long Bridge (behind Domino's) with great views from anywhere in downtown Newport or by boat in the bay.
