- January 20, 2015"TCS is a great school. My daughter was there for 3 mornings when she was 3 and we upped to 4 mornings when she was 4. From day one she always felt safe and happy there, and we did too. I can't say enough about how incredible the teachers and administrator are. They create such a fun, interesting atmosphere for the kids as a whole while at the same celebrating the unique, individual nature of each child. Now that we've moved on to kindergarten, I have even more appreciation for the solid start to school that TCS gave to my child. We can't wait to go back to visit!"- shayneg
- November 18, 2014"We had a great experience with TCS, right from day one. We were new to Vermont and was looking for a school which could help my 3 year old son in being free, enjoy and thereby learning new things in a school. English was not his first language so i was bit cautious in school selection but after meeting with TCS staff and understanding their yearly programme, i was convinced to take a shot. And here i am, after 3 months of school my son just love it and i have seen tremendous changes in his socializing, language skills and curiosity. I think a very good decision taken by me which is helping my son a lot."- sraghuvan
- January 23, 2014"The Children's School is a lovely place with warm, caring and thoughtful teachers, bright and comfortable classrooms, and a great approach to learning. Although we were unsure how our introverted child would do in a preschool setting, he has thrived becoming more independent and forming a terrific bond with all of his teachers."- lovermont
- January 13, 2014"TCS is a fantastic preschool. I looked for months for a program that met my very high standards. Having been an early childhood educator, the things I look for most in a quality program are Child centered, nurturing, and professional staff. TCS is all of those things and countless more than could ever be articulated in this review. If you haven't checked it out, you shouldmornings 812 or full day option is 8530. Great place!"- coleyr
- September 26, 2013"My four yr old son just started preschool at the Children's School and he absolutely loves it. He has difficulty with transitions but the teachers were great about it and helped him through it. The teachers are all very nurturing and understanding of the children's feelings. They made my son feel very comfortable at school and after the first few difficult mornings my son is proud to say he won't cry anymore and that he wants to stay with his friends. The Children's School is also a coop preschool which makes it a great place to meet lots of great families that you can relate to because you have kids in school together. We have lots of fun times at our social gatherings and everyone is also willing to help put these functions together. I am glad to have found this school and will definitely be sending my two yr old next year."- momof3boys
- September 26, 2011"I spent a lot of time searching for the right preschool for my 3 year old son. I picked The Children's School because of the welcoming atmosphere and the fabulous teachers who all have a special gift in working with children. The added bonus is the great indoor and outdoor space that the school offers. My son loves it and doesn't want to leave at the end of the day! The hours that the school offers are great for working parents, and I love that the parent coop structure provides the opportunity for parents to be involved at the school. I'd give 10 stars if that was an option!"- gabe&jonah'sMommy
- February 19, 2011"This is my son's second year at the Children's School. He loves it. The teachers are wonderful and he comes home everyday with a couple of new things he's learned during the day. The current hours are challenging for a single parent who's also trying to put in a full work week, but they're being extended next year which will be a huge help to many families I'm sure. Overall, I would definitely recommend the Children's School."- Jeff in VT
- January 16, 2011"As a former student of The Children's School myself back in the day, I actually didn't even look too closely at other preschools in the area. Based on my own fond memories of preschool, and knowing that I felt wellprepared for kindergarten, I felt comfortable with our son attending TCS this year. He has enjoyed school so much! The playbased curriculum has allowed him to explore more of his own interests and learn more about the interests of others. The teachers are knowledgeable, patient and easy to talk to, both as an adult, and for my child as well. I'm so glad we chose The Children's School!"- SarahS
- September 26, 2010"As a new family to Vermont last year, we were thrilled to find The Children's School. The teachers, staff and families welcomed us with open arms. We were impressed with the comfortable homey atmosphere of the school. Being involved in a coop program has allowed us to play an active part in our child's schooling, and also make acquaintances with other parents. After her first year, we continued the program by participating in the Summer Camp. It was great for our daughter to reconnect with familiar classmates and make new friends for the transition into the school program in the fall. We cannot say enough about how much we have enjoyed The Children's School. "- k10
- January 7, 2010"We have 2 children at the school this year and are still thrilled! The development of social skills from school spills to home in the form of cooperative play and conflict resolution between them, they rarely fight and play well together! My son will start kindergarten in the fall and we're completely confident that he is ready. The Children's School's philosophy and environment has helped him develop the skills needed to make the transition."- fulltimedad
- December 4, 2009"We have had a great experience with the Children's School thus far! The program at the Children's School has truly fostered an enthusiasm for learning in our oldest son now in first grade and currently in our youngest son. I am so impressed with the teachers' ability to create learning experiences out of the children's interests. Any family looking for an established next year will be it's 40th year! parent cooperative preschool for their child should check out the open house from 101 on January 23rd, 2010."- famoffive
- November 16, 2009"I have a 3 and 12 year old at The Children's School. We had to pick this school from out of town, and went by reviews and contacts of the school. We have been very happy with the school. The teachers are wonderful, they really know how each child ticks and works to enhance their strengths. They also help them work on their weaknesses in a positive, and confidence building way. We ended up buying a house 25 minutes away, but have no doubts that we will keep our son in this school until he is ready for kindergarten as he loves it so much!!"- jberg22
- September 23, 2009"This year I have 2 children enrolled at The Children's School and I continue to truly appreciate all that this school has to offer. The teachers at TCS are supportive and professional. I am always so impressed with how they communicate with the children. They are always patient and respectful. The classroom environment is age appropriate and centered around a play based preschool education. It is evident that the teachers, parents and children take great pride in the classroom space. The Children's School in an ideal preschool for families who are looking for a nurturing and childcentered preschool experience."- Bfontana
- September 17, 2009"My son just started preschool at The Children's School corner of Arbor Patchen Road in South Burlington and I can't tell you how much he is enjoying the environment! The teachers are super and seasoned, enthusiastic and supportive, and have helped make my first few days great, too! The parent coop structure means we can take an active role in crafting the space where our child will learn and I love that! I know this involvement in these early years of my son's education will pay dividends later. I know there are still a few spots available for this school year 200910, so if you're new to the area or have a 2year old and are thinking about next year, I'd highly recommend a call or a visit to the school. They have an open house each January as well which I attended last year. I believe you'll like what you see!"- sbworkingmom
- January 9, 2009"I can't say enough good things about The Children's School. The teachers are very warm and caring and do a wonderful job of getting to know your child and supporting them throughout their time at school. The emerging curriculum allows for the kids to have a huge role in deciding what they will spend their time learning. The school itself and the outside play area are unlike any other preschool I have seen in the area. Just an all around great experience for my kids and our whole family! "- stephm
