The M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay

Every Memorial Day Weekend, more than 5,000 runners, 20,000 spectators and 800 volunteers come to Burlington, Vermont for the M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon & Relay - the third largest marathon in New England and both the second largest marathon relay in the nation and the largest single-day sporting event in Vermont.

The course design allows spectators to easily see runners at various points during the race and the electrifying energy brought from the Taiko drummers, Burlington neighborhoods, and the Church Street Marketplace provides a community experience unlike any other marathon event. The course takes runners along the Adirondack and Green Mountain-framed shores of Lake Champlain for unmatched scenic beauty.
