The Schoolhouse Afterschool Program

The Afterschool Program at The Schoolhouse operates daily from 2:45 pm to 5:30 pm.  The afternoon typically includes time outdoors, time in the gym, games and crafts. Students have time for homework and homework support (as needed) and receive a healthy snack.

The Schoolhouse Afterschool Program is open to 4.5-12 year olds who attend The Schoolhouse elementary program and other area schools (including Shelburne Community School. Lake Champlain Waldorf School, Orchard School and Rick Marcotte Central School in S. Burlington are enrolled).   The Schoolhouse will work with families to arrange for transportation to our building (at an additional fee, if necessary). 

The Schoolhouse values the diversity of its parent and student body and accepts childcare subsidy.

The Schoolhouse is located in S. Burlington in a renovated barn on 28 acres of fields and wetlands.  The building offers ample space including 5 classrooms and a large gym. Students come from towns in and around Chittenden County, including Burlington, Hinesburg, Richmond, Milton, Williston, Charlotte, Jericho and Shelburne.

The Schoolhouse also offers:
