Twist, bind, and dye your way to unique, wearable works of art. Bring your own t-shirt if you are able, pre-washed, 100% cotton works best; we will also have some shirts on hand just in case. Drop in anytime between 3pm and 4pm to get started. Enjoy a popsicle or explore the library while you wait for your dye to absorb, then come back at the designated time to set your dye and rinse your shirt. This event is open to all ages, while supplies last. Young children will need adult help.

Teen volunteers, Brownell needs your help. Register for this volunteer experience or others with the Volunteer Sign Up Form.

"I have been spending time at Brownell Library since I was a child! It's a wonderful safe space! The children's section is amazing, with great book selection, fun play activities and toys! Personally, our family could spend hours here!!"

"Quaint library with super welcoming and helpful staff. Despite this library being on the smaller side they have a great kids area with thoughtful resources and an easy pick up area for those times you just need to quickly grab learning materials!"

"Fantastic Library in the heart of Essex Junction! Walking distance to the train, bus station, five corners farmer's market, Summit Street School and (soon-to-be) Summit Community Natural Playground and more! Lots of great activities and selections for all! Kat is the best in the youth department! Brownell Library has done a marvelous job connecting itself to the surrounding community!"
