Meet Dasher & Cupid from the Vermont Reindeer Farm, before they trek to the North Pole to help Santa! The Vermont Reindeer Farm will be bringing Cupid and Dasher to Smuggs. The reindeer live on the Broe Family Farm in West Charleston, Vermont.

Pauline Broe says the best part is seeing people’s faces when they realize that reindeer are real. To youngsters, she explains, “These are Santa’s reindeer. It’s our job to take care of the reindeer for Santa. We call ourselves the reindeer-keepers.” Among the information they share is that reindeer are a distinct subspecies of caribou and that both males and females have antlers, which they lose and regrow on an annual cycle.

They will be next to the basketball courts in the main parking lot in Smugglers’ Resort Village.

"We love the kids programs, the daycare center Treasures, the shuttle service, the trails and the restaurant. We would definitely like to see improvements to the lift speed and possibly an enclosed option. It's a great family skiride mountain. We're on our 3rd season with now 3 and 7 year olds. Everyone leaves happy at the end of the day."

"We had come to Smugglers Notch for a weekend in January to put their wintertime activities to the test. We sure did pack a whole lotta fun into 48 hours, however I feel like we barely scratched the surface. Smuggs is really all that and more. It is a place for families who really enjoy doing things together. They didnt earn the 1 spot for Family Programs for 12th year! in the 2010 SKI Magazine Reader Survey for nothing. HIGHLIGHTS Read my entire review and see a short video of our stay here. The FunZone is a must see, must do while you stay at Smuggs. Kids will have a blast on the large slide, on the obstacle, playing indoor mini golf, or over in the small arcade area. There is a phenomenal slopeside day care should you need it for kids ages 6 weeks through 3 years old. Our youngest wanted to try snowboarding for the first time. As she is a veteran skier, we decided the best way to approach this new challenge was to sign her up for an adventure snowboard group lesson. This hour and a half morning lesson allowed her to get some instruction yet still let us spend the afternoon skiing as a family. Depending on what area of Smugglers you stay in you may have exclusive use of an indooroutdoor pool area. We were staying in the North Hill Community and had access to the North Hill Central that had an awesome water playground, an indoor heated pool, and two hot tubs. One evening we tubed on Sir Henrys Hill. After the lifts close they turn on the lights and still run the magic carpet over there so you can you can hitch a ride to the top with a tube provided and zoom to the bottom. Probably the most unexpected highlight of our weekend was the the new Arbortrek Canopy Tour Center. After 3 hours of Zip lining we all had a sense of accomplishment, both as individuals and as a family, that we have not achieved from any other family activity we have participated in thus far. Disclosure While I was invited to Smugglers' Notch Family Resort and they paid for most of my expenses, my review reflects the honest opinions of my experience without outside influence."

"Smuggs is an excellent place for first timers because its beginner mountain Morse is separate from the other two mountains that offer intermediateadvanced terrain. That means new skiersriders can learn without having too many other skiers zip by them, which can be intimidating. Their instructors are excellent too."

"Mitey Mites is an EXCELLENT skiboard program for local children ages 612. It runs for 8 sessions u pick Saturdays or Sundays starting in January. This is the 2nd year my son has participated and he has improved tremendously! The staff are fun and motivating and best of all will work with families who have special needs children."
