Ward Swimming Hole

Located 15 miles north of Warren--the last hole along the Mad River before it merges with the Winooski--this spot is famous for having the warmest waters out of all its other river-based brethren because of its lack of canopy cover. Here, you'll find a beach with shallower areas, but farther out, deeper expanses allow for jumping from the 15-foot-tall boulders. 

Remember to bring a fishing pole since there is a public fishing area stocked with trout located just a little bit upstream from the hole, off Route 100B.
