North Branch Nature Center joins with BIPOC leaders of Central Vermont for a Ceremony & Community Potluck/Picnic to dedicate “Dot’s Place” and Celebrate Juneteenth!

RSVP at https://northbranchnaturecenter.app.neoncrm.com/.../event...

Montpelier resident Dr. Opeyemi Parham has generously donated a yurt, “Dot’s Place,” to NBNC. The yurt, which was displaced by the July 2023 flood, has been — and will continue to be at NBNC — a nature-based BIPOC affinity space, offering central Vermont’s Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and their allies safe and equitable access to the natural world. Please join us to dedicate “Dot’s Place” and to celebrate Juneteenth in a ceremony featuring drumming and dancing by Shidaa, and music by the New Alpha Choir. Then enjoy a community potluck/picnic – bring your picnic dinner and/or a dish to share. Beverages and dessert will be provided

"A wonderful place to visit, NBNC is a fascinating trip for all natural science lovers. We recently took a class snowshoeing at the nature center and couldn't have been happier!"
